Saturday Morning

Matthias Sutter, Hotel Glockenhof recommend:

After a hearty breakfast, we head for the Seefeld district on the right bank of the lake, known for its relaxed flair. From the beginning of May to the end of October, it's worth walking through what is probably the world's most beautifully situated flea market (on Bürkliplatz, directly on the lake), which is guaranteed to make every collector's heart beat faster.

In addition to numerous boutiques, cafés and restaurants, the Seefeld quarter is home to the Botanical Garden, which has its charm in every season and is therefore always worth a visit.

In winter, you can get a breath of warm, humid air in the small tropical houses.

On warm days, the park invites you to unwind and learn more about botany. Many plants are labelled and you can learn all kinds of things about them. Admission is free of charge.

Saturday Afternoon

Felix Helbling, Hotel Alexander recommends:

Back at Bürkliplatz at the lake basin, it's downriver. On one of the low-lying boats of the Limmat shipping company. Thanks to the glass roofs, you can see the most beautiful buildings and sights of the old town along the water. If you like, you can get off at the National Museum and immerse yourself in Swiss culture. Or enjoy a guided tour of one of the museum's changing special exhibitions.

Continue on to the Viaduct - the city's most exciting shopping street.
"Every day something special". A promise that can be tangibly experienced along the 500 metres of shopping, creativity, design and enjoyment. A visit to the Viadukt is most enjoyable for visitors who come without a shopping list. If you can let yourself drift and be inspired, your heart will beat faster (even without shopping).

Saturday Evening

Sabrina Frey, Best Western Plus Hotel Zürcherhof recommends:

Zurich is my cultural centre. The city promotes cultural creativity in a wide variety of areas. And so visitors from near and far come together and enjoy the extremely varied programme. Depending on the time of year, the time of year you visit and your individual interests, we will recommend the right thing for you to do. As a night owl, I'm always drawn to the Schiffbau or the Schauspielhaus.

Sunday Morning

Matthias Ramer, Hotel Seidenhof und Sorell Hotel St. Peter recommends:

Before heading out of the city, experience how Zurich slowly awakens on a Sunday morning. Thanks to its central hilltop location, right in the city centre and with a magnificent view of the right bank of the Limmat, the university buildings and the old town, Lindenhofplatz is the perfect starting point.
The Lindenhof can only be reached on foot through the narrow streets of the medieval city centre. It is the oldest green space in Zurich. In the warm season, tables under the huge, shady linden trees invite you to linger and watch the local goings-on.

Sunday Afternoon

Susanna Trainini, Central Plaza Hotel recommends:

A real insider tip, very close to Zurich, can be found in Dietikon: the Bruno Weber Park. A fantastic fairytale world by the artist Bruno Weber, who died in 2011, where both young and old will be amazed. There is a lot to discover in the 15,000 m2 sculpture park. The story behind it is also really exciting. The artist's life's work, which is now a total work of art, once sparked a dispute with the local authorities because of the illegally erected house and the figures in the forest. In 1998, however, all the buildings received blanket approval from the authorities and the park was opened to the public.
Tip: If you are travelling by bike, you can cycle from Zurich along the Limmat to Dietikon. From the Limmat, it's not far to the park, which is situated somewhat on the hill. In winter, the park takes a break.

Monday

Tessy Bloch, Hotel Adler recommends:

While the daily business routine has Zurich's city centre firmly in its grip again at the start of the week, today you can enjoy a ride on the only aerial cable car in the canton of Zurich. In just five minutes, the cable car floats up to 803 metres above sea level. Once on Felsenegg, a breathtaking view, an excursion restaurant and countless walking paths beckon. A wonderful opportunity to take another look at the lake basin and, at least for the moment, say goodbye to the city on the Limmat and some of the secret places you have explored in the past few days.

Europaallee by Night

Ariane Oswald, Sorell Hotel Rütli recommends:

A visit to Europaallee with its "Big Apple flair" is definitely recommended when in Zurich. Directly behind the main station and along the railway tracks, not only Google found its home between 45-metre-high residential and commercial buildings, but also numerous modern, unconventional shops as well as hip and exquisite gastronomic concepts. The trendy quarter borders on the tradition-rich "Langstrasse" trendy district. Two worlds that merge into one. Europaallee is always worth a stroll. On lush summer evenings as well as on sunny winter afternoons.

And besides...

A tip for a hot summer day in the city:

Your visit falls during the hottest time of the year? Enjoy cooling off in the Lower Letten. Many locals know it, but visitors from out of town are usually more drawn to the seaside resorts. That's why you're in the right place here. Admission is free and there are plenty of shady spots.
The baths are not far from the viaduct and can be ideally combined with a detour to the exciting shopping street.
